Reflexology is based on the principle that certain areas on the soles of the feet or hands known as reflex zones, correspond to other parts of the body. Because these areas are rich in nerve endings, it is believed that when pressure is applied, the body’s natural ability to heal itself is stimulated and health is restored.
Our Signature treatment is specifically tailored to your individual needs. As a Holistic Massage therapist, I treat you as a whole person, which takes into account your emotional needs as well as physical requirements. This treatment uses a number of different massage techniques.
The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. This is achieved by using various types of massage movements in the shoulders, neck and head. This area of the body harbours over 85% of all our daily tension.
Hot Stone Massage is one of the most relaxing treatments available as the warmth of the hot stones is comforting and extremely relaxing. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist work the muscles using a more effective pressure and the stones themselves have great healing properties.
Covid 19 Update
My priority is to keep you as safe as possible during your visit and I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. Please read our Covid 19 Policy
During the time Therapy Room has been shut, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry.
An increasing number of women are turning to reflexology to help them with many aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. Likewise reflexology may help with inducing labour as pinpointing the correct pressure points of the feet can stimulate the uterus to contract and can help get things started. Ultimately, reflexology allows you to relax and ready your body for childbirth.
Therapy Room NI is a Reflexology, Massage & Complementary Therapy Studio based in Limavady, Northern Ireland and is managed by fully Qualified Reflexologist & Massage Therapist, Sheila Sortwell MGHT.
